Ankle sprain results from the twisting or inversion of the
ankle.
Typically, the ligaments in the ankle will be partially
(sometimes completely) torn or stretched, and the ankle will swell, become
painful and possibly change colour. In some cases, the ligaments damaged
during the sprain will not heal to their original condition, and the
individual will be left with an unstable ankle.
There are a number of treatment options depending on severity, including
physical therapy, surgery and bracing. The bracing option is the
scientifically proven GII STS(tm) ankle brace.
